At present, the relatively large production base of PPO modified plastics is produced in Fujian, Huasu.
1.Reasons for modification of PPO: 1) poor melt flow and difficult processing. 2) poor solvent resistance and easy cracking. 3) poor resistance to oxidation, adding antioxidants, mostly phosphates. 4) high cost and high price.
2.Classification of PPO modified plastics 1) PPO/HIPS/ elastomer blends OBJECTIVE: To improve notch impact and comprehensive properties. The commonly used toughening agents are SBS, EPDM and SEBS block elastomers. The SEBS effect is better. In addition to improving impact performance, it also improves aging resistance. 2) PPO/PA Objective: to improve the organic solvent resistance and oil resistance of MPPO. 3) PPO/ polyolefin blending Objective: to improve the processability of PPO, polyolefin such as polyethylene and solubilizing agent SEBS. 4) PPO/PPS Objective: to improve the molding performance, solvent resistance and washability of PPO. 5) PPO/ABS OBJECTIVE: To improve the impact strength of PPO, improve stress cracking, and give PPO electroplatability, while maintaining other comprehensive properties of PPO.
